Report: Inter Milan send an ultimatum to Chelsea target amidst contract uncertainity

Inter Milan send contract ultimatum to Chelsea target Milan Skriniar

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Football. London), Inter Milan have sent their final contract offer to star defender Milan Skiriniar who has interest from other top European clubs.

Skriniar’s contract situation at Inter has dragged on for quite some time now. The Slovakian centre-back’s contract runs down in the summer and despite a lot of dialogue, he is yet to renew his current deal.

It is not that the 27-year-old does not have options. Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG are heavily linked with a move for the player with the latter in particular pretty public about their interest in him.

Skriniar has been one of the best centre-backs in Serie A for some seasons now. He continues being very good for Inter and at 27, he is in the prime years of his career.

Getting a player of Skriniar’s quality on a free transfer is almost unbelievable. Chelsea can push and try to make this deal happen in the summer if he does not pen a new deal with Inter.

It is being claimed that Inter have sent their final renewal offer of €6 million a year plus bonuses to Skriniar and they have no intention of improving it if the Slovakian does not agree.

Chelsea did sign a number of central defenders in the summer but it will be absolutely no surprise if they decide to go for a player like Skriniar on a free transfer to reinforce that position.

The likes of Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Kalidou Koulibaly are not getting any younger and Skriniar at 27 years of age can be the perfect replacement for the Blues backline.

Chelsea will know that it won’t be easy to convince Skriniar to come here. However, this is a story that can get really interesting and let’s see how it goes.
