Transfer News: Futures of three key Chelsea stars up in the air

Futures of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz ‘uncertain’ as Chelsea look to back Graham Potter

Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz have ‘uncertain’ futures at Chelsea, with the club determined to back Graham Potter, according to The Telegraph (Subscription Required).

The Moroccan, American and German stars have not performed up to the mark this season. As a result, they ‘face a fight’ to remain at the Stamford Bridge side as the club’s hierarchy look to overhaul the squad.

Under Roman Abramovic, Chelsea were trigger-happy regarding their managers. However, Todd Boehly is looking to back the former Brighton & Hove Albion head coach to take the Blues in the right direction.

Therefore, to that end, the new owners are looking to shake up the squad. The likes of Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta and Kalidou Koulibaly may also be allowed to leave in the upcoming transfer windows.

Chelsea are currently struggling to find positive results. We have not been able to win any of our last four fixtures in all competitions. All that the Stamford Bridge side have managed is a draw against Nottingham Forest.

In our previous fixture in the Premier League, we lost 2-1 to Fulham. None of the Blues’ stars played up to the mark against the Cottagers.

Havertz has not been able to make a big enough impact at Chelsea since his goal in the 2020/21 Champions League final against Manchester City in the 1-0 win.

On the other hand, Pulisic’s move to the Stamford Bridge side has been lacklustre. The USMNT star has failed to make a place for himself in the starting lineup over the years.

As for Ziyech, while the 29-year-old has immense talent, he has not been consistent for the Blues since joining from Ajax. Although, the playmaker did catch a lot of people’s eyes at the 2022 World Cup.

While it is encouraging to see that the hierarchy are backing Potter, the gaffer has to take some blame for our recent form. Now, it remains to be seen how the English head manages until the end of the season and whether the club are able to part ways with those who are unwanted.
