Crystal Palace set to make another bid to re-sign Conor Gallagher

Crystal Palace are looking to make another bid to re-sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in the January transfer window

Conor Gallagher returned to Chelsea in 2022 after a successful loan season with Crystal Palace. But he could once again make a move to Palace, with the club considering a new offer to re-sign him.

This has come after The Sun reported (h/t Metro.UK) that Palace would want to re-sign the 22-year-old from the Blues after signing him from Chelsea on loan in 2021-22 season.

The youngster had a wonderful loan season at Selhurst Park last year, starting 34 games in Premier League, scoring eight goals, and dishing out five assists. He also played a key role in helping Palace advance to the FA Cup semifinals.

Patrick Vieira wants to re-sign Gallagher.

He received the Crystal Palace Player of the Year title and a PFA nomination for Young Player of the Year. Although Gallagher’s superb season convinced Chelsea to bring him back, things did not unfold as anticipated. at Stamford Bridge.

The England international couldn’t translate his Palace form to Stamford Bridge and has been a middling figure.

He had trouble breaking into the starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel and also hasn’t convinced new manager Graham Potter with his showing.

Although under Potter he has started in 17 games in the league but only played the full game twice, having registered a goal and assist.

Gallagher hasn’t yet been able to establish himself. Furthermore, it is questionable whether he will get more action once N’Golo Kante returns from injury.

Conor Gallagher thinks Reece James is the strongest player at Chelsea.

Also, the youngster would have a very difficult time getting playing time if Chelsea were to sign Enzo Fernandez. Still, the Blues should keep the player because he still has potential, and then contemplate letting him leave at the end of the current campaign.

More Chelsea News:

Gallagher can still be used as a crucial midfielder until the end of the season, and selling him in January could be a mistake for the club given injuries to Kante, Jorginho and Mason Mount’s lack of performance.
