Tottenham Hotspur will sign Chelsea U21 forward Jude Soonsup-Bell in the January transfer window

Jude Soonsup-Bell has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur from Chelsea’s U21 team in this transfer window after being touted as a future prospect.

According to the Evening Standard (via TalkSport), the player is expected to join Spurs U21 and complete his medical before signing his contract.

The youngster has been praised as a promising player and has joined the North London U21 team, which is currently second-bottom of Premier League 2. The club has offered him a long-term path to join the first team through loans for the upcoming season.

Moreover, the 19-year-old also had offers from Manchester City and other British clubs but preferred to join Tottenham U21.

Jude began his career at Swindon Town Bell but left the club to join Chelsea U12, where he played as a central midfielder before being moved to the centre-forward position due to his goal-scoring ability.

The player has only six months left on his deal but has already accepted a deal to join the Chelsea rivals. Jude has appeared in seven games for Chelsea U21 this season, scoring two goals and assisting once. In December 2021, the U21 player made his senior debut, playing 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Brentford.

However, there are concerns about the Chelsea academy’s young players, despite the fact that the senior team has spent roughly £500 million on young talent.

And it is believed that it will have an impact on the future of many young talents at the club, with some leaving the academy this season if their efforts are not credited.

It is obvious that many young players would like to play for the senior team and the fact that Chelsea are acquiring players from other clubs may potentially affect their chances of promotion to the senior squad.

Our club has produced many outstanding academy graduates, including John Terry, Jimmy Greaves, Mason Mount, and now Reece James.

It is reasonable for Chelsea to sign young players from other clubs, but we must also provide opportunities for our own young players, otherwise, they will eventually join other clubs’ academies to earn promotion to senior teams.
