Brighton’s bid to replace Moises Caicedo rejected with Chelsea circling the South American
According to the Evening Standard, Brighton and Hove Albion bid for RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara as they look to replace Moises Caicedo with Chelsea circling around.
The German side are not interested in selling the midfielder as they feel there isn’t enough time to find a replacement. Chelsea, on the other hand, have their eyes set on signing Caicedo.
The Blues had their initial bid for the Ecuador international rejected by the Seagulls last week. A recent report suggested that the latter would demand something around £100m to sell their star player.
Chelsea hope that if Brighton sign another midfielder before the end of this month, their stance regarding Caicedo would change and they can cash in on the opportunity.
We are also interested in World Cup winning dup Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez, while links with Everton midfielder Amadou Onana are there as well.
Having spent a good chunk of money on buying wide attackers this month, Chelsea could do with a midfield signing before the end of this week to get the squad ready for a flourishing second half of this campaign.
It should be a hectic next few days as multiple possibilities are open. We have seen during this window how quickly the Blues can act to get a transfer done. You can take the completion of Mykhailo Mudryk’s deal as an example.
Caicedo is an excellent player who would make our midfield better. He is good on the ball, can create chances, is a dynamic presence off the ball and can win duels at a good rate.

We have lacked that type of player in the midfield this season. If we sign the 21-year-old, he could well be the difference between us finishing in the top four or not.
