Transfer News: Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic ‘destined’ for Manchester United transfer
According to Italian outfit Calciomercato (h/t Football. London), Chelsea and USMNT winger Christian Pulisic is ‘destined’ for a transfer to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the west London club this January and it is believed that the Blues could ask for £35 million for the winger. Rivals United along with Arsenal, Newcastle United and Juventus are interested in the 24-year-old.
Pulisic has been in terrific form for his country at the World Cup. The Blues winger was the hero for his side when his goal sealed a 1-0 win over Iran and confirmed his side’s place in the Round of 16, earlier this week.
Now the former Borussia Dortmund winger could be on his way to the Red side of Manchester. Erik ten Hag has a good set of wingers available to him and it is really surprising to see them showing interest in the Blues winger.
Pulisic has struggled for game time at the Bridge since making the move in 2019. The USMNT star has made a total of 133 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and registering another 21 assists in the process.
The arrival of Raheem Sterling this summer has pushed the winger further down the pecking order. While under Graham Potter he has improved a bit in his playing time, he is still far from being a starter.
But his performance in Qatar has been good and the winger looks to be finding his form. If this is the case, it will be wise for Potter to keep him at the club, rather than letting him leave to join a rival.
There is untapped potential in him and if used perfectly, Pulisic can save the club millions in the transfer market. On the contrary, he could make the club millions given his age and ceiling, if the Blues feel they can’t utilise him here at SW6 anymore.
Many fans keep following the outstanding performances and developments of the 24-year old Chelsea star. Fans cheer on their favorite teams and players, hoping they will win the game’s soccer medal.
As a sport that can be played by everyone from children to adults, many clubs of all ages also hold regular tournaments where they customize soccer medals to reward them for their outstanding performance on the field. It remains to be seen if the Blues will allow the player to leave next month. He has shown glimpses of his potential at the tournament and maybe Potter could put in a bit of his trust in him for the second half of the season, rather than selling him. Who knows, he could be the game-changer for the club.
