PSG president confirms interest in signing Chelsea and multiple club target Jude Bellingham
Speaking to Sky News (h/t Sky Sports), PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the qualities of Chelsea target Jude Bellingham and confirmed interest in signing the England international.
Al-Khelaifi praised the player, talked about how he is calm in pressure situations and claimed that England are lucky to have him in the World Cup. He also shared his views on potentially wanting to sign the young superstar.
Bellingham has been linked with several clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid. It has felt like a soap opera that won’t end until one of the clubs eventually signs him in the upcoming transfer windows.
Here’s what the PSG president had to say about the midfielder (h/t Sky Sports):
“England (are) lucky to have him, to be honest. He’s one of the best players in the tournament. Amazing – his first World Cup. He’s calm and relaxed, confident – amazing.”
“Everybody wants him, I’m not going to hide it. He’s at his club, and (we have) respect, so if we want to talk to him we’ll talk to the club first.”
Bellingham has had an amazing time in Qatar. He began his World Cup campaign with a goal against IR Iran. Then, in the last-16 tie against Senegal, the 19-year-old stepped up with an assist for the opening goal and dominated the midfield throughout the game.
He has become a superstar of the world at such a tender age. He has everything a modern-day midfielder or a midfielder of any era needs – quality on the ball, pressing energy without possession, high-intensity running in both boxes and an excellent reading of the game.
Chelsea are in a situation where they would need a couple of top-quality additions to their midfield very soon. The future of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho is doubtful as their contracts expire in the summer with no agreement on an extension yet.
Bellingham won’t solve the midfield issue all by himself, but he would be a big piece in the jigsaw. With so many clubs going after one player, the price could just keep on rising. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can match the financial offerings of highly-rich clubs like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

We would love the Englishman wearing our jersey. He would instantly upgrade the level of our team but with so many heavy-hitters circling arguably the hottest midfielder in European football, the Blues may have to cough up serious cash to think about signing him.
