Newcastle United are ‘tentatively’ watching the situation of Chelsea outcast Hakim Ziyech
According to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports (h/t Express), Newcastle United are tentatively watching the situation of Chelsea outcast and Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech, who had an excellent World Cup with the Atlas Lions where he and his country made history by being the first African nation to play a World Cup semi-final, has been on the fringes of things at Chelsea for some time now.
It is revealed that the 29-year-old would love to go back to Ajax if an offer comes, while AC Milan have cooled down their interest despite reports of them preparing a bid to sign the winger.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter did not make it clear whether Ziyech’s fantastic form in the World Cup will be rewarded with more game time at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old played a total of 270 minutes in all competitions for the Blues in the first half of this season. 68 of those minutes came in the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City. It is clear that Potter did not fancy him before the World Cup.
And with what the manager said in the press conference on Friday (December 23rd), it does not seem like the winger is going to walk into the XI despite being in good form.
Newcastle have been linked with a move for another Chelsea outcast Christian Pulisic as they look to bolster their attacking department in wide areas.
Looking at Ziyech’s situation, if the Magpies want, they can put a bid in for the Moroccan and have every chance of signing him either in January or the summer.

The former Ajax is a wonderful player who is a tad unlucky not to be playing much at Chelsea. Now, we must do the right thing and let him go to a club where he can play regularly and show how good he is.
