Chelsea interested in signing USMNT international and former Arsenal starlet Yunus Musah
According to Football.London, Chelsea are interested in signing USMNT international and former Arsenal youngster Yunus Musah in upcoming transfer windows.
Musah, who featured for the USA during the World Cup and did well to impress many people, is currently plying his trade in La Liga with Valencia.
The 20-year-old was with the Arsenal youth team for a year between 2018 and 2019. He then moved to Valencia B in August 2019 and got a chance to play for their first team from 2020 onwards, where has made a name for himself in recent months.
Musah is a versatile midfield player who can operate in any position across the central regions of the field. He is capable of playing as a winger if required.
During the first half of this season, the USMNT international played 11 league games, most of it as a central midfielder. He assisted in two goals in doing so.
Musah is a dynamic player who is good on the ball, can carry it forward at pace, is quick at making defensive recoveries and has a good amount of experience in senior football at such a tender age.
Chelsea are in a situation where they would need more than one addition to their midfield department. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are having their contracts expire at the end of this season with no extension agreed upon yet.
The Blues have been linked with several midfielders, including the English duo Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice. AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer is also on the rumour list.
But, given the price tags of Bellingham and Rice, it could be impossible to sign both of them. Hence, looking at the possibility of signing one and then aiming elsewhere would be sensible.

That is where the probability of capturing Musah from Valencia comes to the table. It could prove to be a wise signing and it’s good to know that the Blues are keeping their avenues open when it comes to strengthening in the middle of the park.
