A View From The Bridge

Falk reveals Bayern Munich’s stance on swap deal involving Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic

Bayern Munich are not interested in a swap deal consisting of Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic

According to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, via Sport Witness (h/t Football.London), Bayern Munich are not interested in a swap deal that involves them signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic and Kingsley Coman going the other way.

A few days ago, it was reported that the German champions are open to agreeing on a swap deal consisting of the two players mentioned above. That doesn’t seem to be the case now.

Falk also mentioned that Chelsea were interested in signing Coman and were ready to offer Pulisic, but Bayern is not prepared to let the former leave as they are very happy with him.

Pulisic had a great World Cup for the USMNT, where he scored a goal and assisted two before bowing out to the Netherlands in the last-16 stage. The forward hasn’t had a good time at Chelsae though.

Since he arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2019, the 24-year-old has not managed to get regular game time under either of the three managers he has played under so far.

During the summer window, he was linked with a move away to Manchester United, but a move did not materialise. A few days ago, Daily Mail reported that United are back in it for him, this time along with Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Despite a fantastic two weeks in Qatar, it feels as if Pulisic’s Chelsea future is all but over, even though Bayern do not want a deal in which they have to sign him.

Daily Mail also revealed that both the Blues and the player would want a permanent deal to part ways in January, and not a loan move. The price tag is touted to be around £35m.

More Chelsea News:

Will we miss Pulisic if and when he is gone? Probably not because of how less he played for us. But, a part of us would feel that it is a shame such a talented player could not work it out at our club.
