Agent namedrops Chelsea as possible destination for 19-year-old playmaker

Agent of Chelsea target Arsen Zakharyan reveals possibility of a transfer

Speaking to Sports.ru (h/t Football.London), the agent of Chelsea target Arsen Zakharyan has revealed that the player could still join the Blues despite a failed move in the summer.

The Blues made a bid to sign the Russian international in the preceding summer transfer window, but the move failed to materialise due to unforeseen circumstances.

In late October, Daily Mail reported that Chelsea are refusing to give up on signing the Dinamo Moscow midfielder after the summer move was blocked due to the sanction Russian banks got from the UK due to the war in Ukraine.

Here’s what Zakharyan’s agent Pavel Andreev said (h/t Football.London):

“There remains a possibility of a transfer of Arsen Zakharyan to Chelsea.”

Zakharyan is having one of the better seasons for Moscow with three goals and six assists in 22 appearances in all competitions.

The 19-year-old is a versatile midfielder who can operate as a number eight, attacking midfielder or a wide midfielder. He is excellent on the ball, likes to take on the responsibility to create chances for the team and works hard defensively as well.

Chelsea spent good money in the summer window on buying some of the best young talents to improve their youth side and also increase competition for places in the senior team. It is all part of Todd Boehly’s ‘Vision 2030‘.

We can just hope that Zakharyan gets added to the list here at Stamford Bridge. The Russia international is capable to come and straightaway challenge for a spot in the senior team.

More Chelsea News:

The Blues could do with someone like him in midfield, who can create chances and be that presence in and around the final third. He is still 19 and will learn a lot, but the progress so far has been great. Will we push to get him in January or wait till the summer? The answer to this question would be answered soon.
