“Be patient”- Raheem Sterling waxes lyrical on “fantastic” Chelsea midfield target

Raheem Sterling tips Chelsea target Jude Bellingham to go to the very top

Speaking to Talksport Radio (h/t Football.London), Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling has tipped the club’s transfer target, Jude Bellingham, to go to the very top of the game.

Chelsea are one of the few top clubs in Europe that are chasing the signature of one of the best players in the world, and probably the best young English midfielder.

Sterling and Bellingham are currently representing England in the World Cup in Qatar. Both scored in the team’s opening game of the tournament against IR Iran in a 6-2 win, and the former assisted a goal too to round off an impressive performance.

Talking about the quality and potential of Bellingham, here’s the former Manchester City winger (h/t Football.London):

“He’s a fantastic player, he’s one that we’ve just got to let keep doing his thing and enjoying his football and not putting pressure on him. I think he’ll get to the very top but we’ve just got to be patient and let him flow and as you see with club football and now internationally he’s doing really well.”

We all are well aware of how good the Birmingham City academy product is. Mind you he just turned 19 in the summer, and if he stays fit and is looked after well, we could witness one of the best players ever to grace a football pitch.

Chelsea need additions in the central midfield department in the upcoming windows. They do not have a midfielder like Bellingham who can pass well, tackle brilliantly, make runs in both boxes and is a goal threat all at the same time.

At times this season, the Blues have looked static and pale in that area, which can be attributed to the injury to the ever-dynamic N’Golo Kante.

But, Bellingham can give this team more going forward as well. With so many top clubs interested, it would not be easy to chisel out a deal perfect enough to make him sign for us.

More Chelsea News:

We are currently eighth in the league table. If we are to get the 19-year-old next summer, the first aim should be to finish in the top four or gain Champions League status by winning it this season.
