Manchester United step up plans to sign striker on Chelsea’s radar

Manchester United step up pursuit of Chelsea target Victor Osimhen

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of trying to sign talented Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with Chelsea and Bayern Munich also said to be interested in signing the talented forward.

The Nigerian target man has won plaudits for his performances for the Italian giants over the last few seasons. He is a crucial member of Luciano Spaletti’s side and acts as the focal point in attack in a team that creates a lot of chances in an attacking sense.

The 23-year-old forward joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 and has since then grown from strength to strength with his performances for the club. He is likely to attract a lot of top clubs in the upcoming transfer windows and it looks like teams are already making plans.

Manchester United have apparently made plans to make a move for the talented striker and want to wrap up the signing even before the other clubs come into the fray. However, it will be a very tough negotiation to try and snap him up.

Especially with clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich also interested in the player, these clubs would also make moves if they know Man United are making progress in their pursuit of the talented striker. It remains to be seen how these clubs go about their planning.

It is definitely not going to be easy for Chelsea to try and sign the player. However, considering the fact that Osimhen will know that he will be the main man up top for the Blues if he indeed comes here, there is a chance that he could be tempted by a Blues move.

Chelsea need a striker and it’s no secret. They do have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is pretty good but the Gabonese striker is not getting any younger and we need someone who can compete with the former Arsenal man and replace him in the future.

Osimhen perfectly fits the bill as the long-term replacement for Auba. He is pacy, strong and also has a lethal finish, characteristics that are also true for the Gabonese veteran striker. Osimhen can learn from Aubameyang and improve his game even further.

Osimhen to Chelsea will definitely be a great signing. It will not be easy to convince him but if we manage to do it, it will definitely be worth it.
