Manchester United are in a three-way battle to sign Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are in a three-way battle among Premier League clubs to sign USMNT and Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic during the January transfer window.

Arsenal and Newcastle United are the other clubs in England eyeing up a move for a 24-year-old who has had an impressive World Cup so far. Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus are also interested.

After terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, United are in search of a new striker in the market. However, they are concerned by Jadon Sancho’s form, hence looking at the possibility of signing a replacement. They did target Pulisic in the summer as well, but a move did not materialise (Football.London).

Arsenal, on the other hand, are looking to add more depth to their forward line while high-flying Newcastle have to bulk up in that department to sustain their bid to finish in the top four.

Pulisic assisted a goal against Wales and played well against England. He has been on the fringes at Chelsea since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.

During the first half of the club football season, the USMNT star played a total of 607 minutes of football in all competitions. He has not been able to make a telling impact at Stamford Bridge thus far.

Chelsea are mulling over the prospect of selling the forward, whose contract expires in 18 months’ time. It is anticipated that the Blues would ask around £35m if a deal is to be put forward on the table.

More Chelsea News:

If the 24-year-old continues to have a good World Cup, it would be an opportunity for the club to increase that price tag by a fair few quids. Or it might hand Graham Potter a chance to recall him back into the starting lineup and give him more playing time in a Chelsea shirt.
