Chelsea target makes Erling Haaland claim, admits he dreams of playing in Europe

Chelsea target Endrick dreams of playing in Europe and admires Erling Haaland

Speaking to TV Gazeta (h/t Evening Standard), Palmeiras forward Endrick, who is a Chelsea target, has spoken about his dream of playing in Europe and is an admirer of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

As per Standard Sport, the Blues are among the three clubs who are in the race to sign the 16-year-old Brazilian. Several meetings have already taken place. Real Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain are the other two in the chasing pack.

While the European champions remain front-runners and PSG could make a bid, Chelsea are ready to out-bid their way to an agreement with the player. Even if a move is done early next year, he won’t join the club until the summer of 2024, when he turns 18.

Here’s what Endrick said regarding his future playing in Europe and about Haaland (h/t Evening Standard):

“There’s the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 … I play video games a lot, I make a career out of playing.

“I watch all the leagues, I play in all the leagues, practically. I see myself playing in any league. My dream is to play in Europe, but what I want is to be playing. I’m focused on Palmeiras and I don’t care where I’ll be playing in the future.

“Currently, Haaland is a new guy that I look up to, who was almost from my generation. But, of course, there is also Ronaldo.”

Last month, Endrick became the youngest player in Palmeiras’ history to make his senior debut, at the age of 16 years, two months and 16 days. It came about after he scored 165 goals in 169 games for the club’s youth sides. The senior team manager had no choice but to get him to play in the Brazilian Serie A.

He has scored three goals and assisted one in seven appearances in the top-flight so far. Not only that, the performances have been very good.

Chelsea spent a good chunk of money signing young players in the summer transfer window. Todd Boehly has a vision called ‘Vision 2030‘ that consists of buying top young talents to groom them and make them ready for first-team action in due course of time.

More Chelsea News:

Endrick is an exciting young player who can come to Stamford Bridge and even challenge for a spot in the senior team straight away. He has all the qualities to be a menace for Premier League defenders in time to come. It is up to the club now to make this move happen by warding off the challenge from Real Madrid and PSG.
