Chelsea bracing for interest from Italian giants for 21-year-old star

Chelsea bracing for AC Milan interest in January to sign striker Armando Broja

According to Evening Standard, Serie A champions AC Milan are interested in signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja during the January transfer window.

A few weeks ago, it was reported by Metro that Milan chiefs had a conversation with the representatives of Broja to strike a possible deal.

The Albanian international, who had a great loan spell at Southampton last season, was linked with a move away to West Ham United in the summer. However, that move did not materialise.

Weeks later, the 21-year-old signed a new six-year deal with Chelsea, showing his ambitions of staying here and fighting for his spot in the team.

Amidst this interest from Milan, the Blues are in a position to refuse any offers, and the player himself does not want to leave west London. Broja is currently back in London in between his international friendlies’ duty due to an ankle injury.

Albania’s boss made it clear that the 21-year-old needs to play more if he is to improve his game. He has played a total of 465 minutes in all competitions for the Blues this season, which cannot be labelled as getting “regular game time.”

Chelsea have already agreed on a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku next summer. Moreover, they are in the market for a new centre forward in the upcoming transfer windows. They already have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who they signed from Barcelona on a three-year deal in the summer.

With all that in mind and seeing how less Broja has played this season, does it not make sense for Chelsea to let him go to a club where an increased amount of game time is guaranteed? The sensible option would be this.

More Chelsea News:

For a 21-year-old who has great qualities as a striker, playing games can only improve him and fine-tune his rough edges. As fans, we want young players to develop by playing more, and not warming the bench. If there are plans to sign new strikers, we should let Broja go to Milan.
