According to Daily Mail, if Chelsea and Christian Pulisic are to part ways in the upcoming transfer window after the World Cup, they would want it permanently and not on a loan deal.
After two good performances in Qatar, three Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United are eyeing a move for the 24-year-old in January (Daily Mail).
It has been revealed that the Blues will accept a fee of around £35m if they are to let the USMNT star go in the middle of the season. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 18 months time, hence the decision on his future would ideally need to be taken sooner rather than later from a financial viewpoint.
Pulisic was the shining light in both games against England and Wales. He assisted the goal against the latter and came ever so close to breaking the deadlock against the former.
He has not been playing regularly for Chelsea though under any manager at the club since his arrival in the summer of 2019. He played a total of only 607 minutes of football in all competitions for the Blues in the first half of this season.
The 24-year-old is still a good player who can operate in any position across the forward line and use the ball well in the final third. He has good dribbling and decision-making skills around the opposition box. His shooting and picking out fellow attackers are not bad as well.
It is just a shame that things have not worked out for him in west London. But, a good World Cup and things could take a U-turn. He had a decent game against England but he wasn’t quite at his best.
Chelsea do lack a clinical and in-form attacker in their team. Can Graham Potter reinstate Pulisic back in the XI if continues to do well in Qatar? We never know.
If that is not a possibility, then the Blues may well add an extra few quids to his valuation. It is important to note that Potter is yet to make a signing and we will know the starting XI he envisages under him only with time.
