Speaking in an interview with BILD Tv as quoted by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund CEO Watzke has opened up on what the future holds for talented English midfielder Jude Bellingham amidst interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Watzke has claimed that the club will talk with the player once the World Cup in Qatar gets over and the Dortmund CEO says that Bellingham will have to tell the club what he wants to do. He did reveal that he would like to keep him but it’s not possible for them to compete with the other giants financially.
Bellingham is one of the most sought-after midfielders in the world of football. His stocks keep rising with every passing game and the English midfielder is truly a generational talent. It remains to be seen where he ends up next season.
It seems almost impossible for the teenager to be a part of Dortmund next summer. He is too good to remain at the German club for longer, with all due respect to the club, and a return to England cannot be ruled out for Bellingham next summer.
Dortmund are no stranger to losing talented youngsters but they make sure they get paid a lot of money for that. They are in many ways a training ground for players who are young and have a lot of potential and need a springboard to reach a top club.
Speaking about Bellingham, here is what the Dortmund CEO said about keeping hold of the talented midfielder and what the future holds for him.
“After Qatar, we’ll have a discussion about what Jude actually wants. He should just tell us whether he wants to stay or leave. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can’t afford to have a fight financially.”
A huge summer awaits Bellingham and the decision he makes could go a long way in establishing his status as the top talent in English football. Chelsea are just one of the clubs interested in the player with many other English clubs keen on him as well.
It is not easy being Jude Bellingham at the moment. He has the world at his feet and he will want to try and make the best decisions for his future. Let’s hope he chooses Chelsea but all we can do is wait and watch.
