Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes takes a dig at Chelsea star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has taken to Twitter to take a dig at former Gunners star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by sending out a five-word message after his team’s impressive win against Chelsea in the Premier League yesterday.
Gabriel scored the only goal in the game that helped his side get three points against Graham Potter’s side in what was an impressive performance from the visitors. Chelsea looked really flat against the high-flying Arsenal team and did not look a part at all.
Chelsea star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who took the field against his former club for the first time since his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer had a shocker of a game, failing to produce anything of substance and looking lost in the frontline.
The Gabonese striker has been somewhat of a hit-and-miss so far in the Premier League since his return. He has still scored a number of goals for the Blues but more is expected from a player of Aubameyang’s calibre, especially whilst playing against Arsenal to whom he has a point to prove.
Aubameyang, upon securing his Chelsea move put out a video in which he told the Arsenal fans that he is back in London and that it was ‘nothing personal’ against them that he moves to their rivals. This earned the wrath of his former club’s supporters.
Upon beating Aubameyang’s new side last night in a game where the Gabonese striker was virtually absent, Gabriel chose to give it back to his former teammate and put out a cryptic tweet that quite clearly seemed to be a target against the talented striker.
Arsenal yesterday showed Chelsea how far behind they had fallen. The Gunners were the much better team on the night and had a display to remember. The Blues on the other hand would like to forget what happened and move on very quickly.
Potter has some serious work to do with the Chelsea squad. He is not able to make them play the way he wants them to but it is only logical that it takes some time for the English manager to instil his style of play and make the Blues play the kind of football Brighton did.
