William Gallas details how Chelsea have improved under Graham Potter

William Gallas believes Chelsea have significantly improved under Graham Potter

Speaking to Genting Casino (h/t Football.London), former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes that the Blues have significantly improved under the new manager Graham Potter.

Chelsea are on a run of five consecutive wins under Potter. He has taken charge of six games so far, the other game was a draw. Gallas believes the team look stronger now but calls them unfortunate to have injuries to key players.

The Blues have games coming every three to four days till the World Cup begins. So, the challenge does not stop here. In fact, with injuries to Reece James and N’Golo Kante, Potter has the tough task of managing the squad in this intense period.

Talking about the improvements in the team under the new boss, here’s Gallas (h/t Football.London):

“I’m seeing an improvement at Chelsea under Graham Potter. They look stronger, teams have to be careful about them because now they have new defenders and Aubameyang. In the middle, they look strong, and unfortunately, right now they have injuries.

“But I think the manager has done a good job since he has arrived. It’s never easy to train one club at the beginning of the season because you need time to know your players, you need time to explain to them what you want from them.

“So it was difficult but he looks like he knows the system he wants to play, they look good and he’s had a good impact.”

After the Brentford game tonight, Chelsea face Manchester United on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in a game that could go a long way in deciding which team will finish in the top four.

The positives have been the form of Kepa Arrizabalaga, who once again had a splendid game on Sunday. He and the team are on a run of four consecutive clean sheets.

In the forward line, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has looked good, while Mason Mount has returned to form with a great performance against AC Milan last week and a brace against Chelsea on Sunday.

Despite missing two key players Kante and James, Chelsea look solid and balanced all over the pitch, something which was not the case early in the season under Thomas Tuchel.

More Chelsea News:

Potter is regarded as one of the best man managers along with his tactical prowess. He would need all of that to navigate this tough period and also get the players in tune to come back after the World Cup and continue the season in the same vein.
