Transfer News: Gabby Agbonlahor believes Wilfried Zaha could make a move to a top team like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea
Gabby Agbonlahor believes Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha could make a move to a top club next summer. Chelsea, along with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been tipped to have an interest in the winger by the former Aston Villa striker.
Zaha sees his current contract at Selhurst Park expire next summer and the former Aston Villa striker believes he should make a move. Speaking on talkSPORT (h/t Express), the former striker gave his opinion.
“Last night at the game I found out that his contract runs out next summer, he can go on a free transfer to a top club. I mean if you are an Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, you’re snapping him up on a three-year contract.”
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Champions League clubs previously, but the asking price of the Eagles has always been a major barrier for any potential move.
But should the winger see out his current contract, he could finally make a big club move next summer. The Ivory Coast international has played his entire professional career in the Premier League and has amassed huge experience in the process.
He has been in excellent form this season, scoring five goals in nine league appearances so far. The 29-year-old has throughout many seasons been an important player for his side and is again so this season.
Zaha was the star again for his side as he scored the winner in their 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this week. With Hakim Ziyech’s future still uncertain, the 29-year-old could be his potential replacement, should the Moroccan make a move in January or next summer.
It remains to be seen if the Blues make any move for the winger in January. Getting such an experienced player on a free transfer could prove to be good business for the west London club.
