Thiago Silva gives verdict on Chelsea manager Graham Potter
Thiago Silva had nothing but praise for Chelsea manager Graham Potter after their 3-0 win against AC Milan. The veteran centre-back started the game and was also the one who wore the captain’s armband.
Speaking after the game to TNT Sports correspondent Fred Caldeira (h/t Fabrizio Romano), the 38-year-old called his new manager a very “nice and humble guy.”
“He’s a special guy, a very nice and humble guy. He doesn’t need to be perfect in the dugout, he knows how to manage the players well and he gets to organize the team well with his very human and humble communication.”
Potter was appointed as the new Chelsea boss last month after the previous manager Thomas Tuchel was sacked. The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager started his legacy with a draw against RB Salzburg in the Champions League.
Following the passing away of Her Majesty The Queen last month, the Blues saw their Premier Leagues games against Fulham and Liverpool get postponed. But the fans were not disappointed when Potter led his side to a 2-1 victory in his first league game in charge of the club against Crystal Palace.
That was followed by a memorable night at the Bridge with the west London club thrashing Italian champions Milan 3-0 courtesy of goals from Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Recce James.
Silva seems to be a trusted option by Potter. The former Paris Saint-Germain centre-back has started in all three games under the new boss. It is hardly surprising to see so as the Brazilian international has been in such good form since moving to west London in 2020.
