“Tough client”- Chelsea told a draw vs Brentford is a good result for them

Gianfranco Zola believes it was a good point for Chelsea against Brentford

Speaking to Amazon Prime UK after the game (h/t Metro), Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola believes it was a good point gained for the Blues against a tough client Brentford, rather than it being classed as two dropped.

Chelsea played out a goalless draw against the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium with both teams having enough chances to open the scoring, but their goalkeepers were in top form to deny that happening.

This point keeps the Blues in fourth position in the table after 10 games, seven behind leaders Arsenal and one ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.

Chelsea and Brentford played out an entertaining goalless draw on Wednesday.

Talking about the game and why it was a point gained, here’s Zola (h/t Metro):

“But considering that this Brentford team really is a tough client, I consider this was a good point for Chelsea.”

Zola also mentioned that Chelsea are in the title race and cannot be ruled out of any competition. He touched upon the quality and depth of the squad that can be beneficial in keeping this team alive in all competitions. Here’s what he exactly said (h/t Metro):

“It’s still possible. Chelsea is a very good team and has a big squad and they can be competitive in the Champions League and even in the Premier League. I said before the game you cannot rule out a team like Chelsea from the title race. “

At this moment, irrespective of their current position in the table, Manchester City are outright favourites to not just retain the league title but win it comfortably. Arsenal are on top but their squad depth is a concern, while Chelsea could be in the mix if they deal with injuries well and keep the consistency going.

Graham Potter’s men face Manchester United next on Saturday, a game that can go a long way in deciding which team has control of finishing in the top four. It is still early in the season, but these games are generally six-pointers in a way.

The schedule is tight and intense till the World Cup. Potter has to make sure that the dropped points does not adversely stifle our momentum.
