Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani backs Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei to be a ’15-goal player’
Chelsea youngster Cesare Casadei has been backed by former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani to be a “15-goal player”. The Italian has backed his 19-year-old compatriot to make an impact from the middle of the park.
Casadei was signed by the Blues from the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2022. The 19-year-old has since played for the Chelsea U21 side. However, the young midfielder is yet to get a crack at first-team football at the Stamford Bridge side.
Speaking to BoboTV via the Evening Standard, Adani, who played for Empoli before retiring in 2008, has backed Casadei to be a success for Chelsea. The former defender feels the 19-year-old has certain traits that make him special.
“Casadei is a 15-goal player in the Primavera.
“He has the ability to get in the middle of ten people, but the ball gets to him. In his head, he has a time as if everyone disappeared.”
Casadei seems to have a bit of a bite to him as well. The young Italian picked up a red card on his debut in the Papa John’s Trophy. Chelsea’s U21 side took on the League Two outfit. The 19-year-old started the fixture and got a second yellow in the 85th minute as the reserve team lost 1-0.
However, since then, Casadei has had a good time of things. He scored a goal for the Blues’ U21 team in both the fixtures against Everton and Crystal Palace’s reserve sides.
Chelsea are currently seemingly struggling in the middle of the park. With the likes of N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic being out in the last few weeks, the Blues have not been at their best.
Jorginho does not instil confidence in the Chelsea fanbase. The Italian leaves the team wanting for more when tracking back. Conor Gallagher has also not been at his best. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is another player who has played in multiple positions.
Potter was known to develop youngsters in his time with Brighton & Hove Albion. The likes of Tariq Lamptey, Arsenal’s Ben White, Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma and the Stamford Bridge side’s summer 2022 signing Marc Cucurella all thrived under the English manager.
