Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang plotting Chelsea exit with PSG talks
According to French outlet Foot Mercato (h/t Metro), Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who signed the Blues this summer, is already eyeing an exit next summer and has begun transfer talks with French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Chelsea signed the former Arsenal striker in a £10m deal for Barcelona on the deadline day of the summer transfer window. At that time Thomas Tuchel was the manager of the club. Since then, the German has been sacked and replaced by Graham Potter.
The Gabon star has impressed the Blues fans with good performances, especially in the two games after the international break. He took his goals well against Crystal Palace and AC Milan, leading them to crucial wins. He was an unused substitute in the team’s comfortable 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, this news that the player is looking to move to PSG next summer should come as a surprise to all. The report also reveals the French champions will make a strong offer to sign the 33-year-old, and they have opened talks with his representatives regarding this deal.
One of the attractions for Aubameyang potentially moving to the Parisian club would be their manager Christopher Galtier. Galtier was the manager of Saint-Etienne when the striker played there before joining Borussia Dortmund.
Whether Aubameyang only came to Chelsea because Tuchel, who he has worked with before at Dortmund, was the manager of the club remains to be seen. The reasoning behind him looking to move to PSG is quite similar to when he first signed for the Blues.
The 33-year-old is still an incredible striker who can offer a lot of goals to any team in Europe. Chelsea should do everything to keep him beyond next summer.
