A View From The Bridge

“The difference” – Chelsea star reveals major aspect change under Graham Potter

Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek highlights key aspect that has changed under Graham Potter

Speaking after Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 win against AC Milan in the Champions League as quoted by Football. London, Blues midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has highlighted one key aspect that has changed between Thomas Tuchel’s time and Graham Potter’s arrival at the club.

Chelsea steamrolled Milan in what was an impressive performance and a statement win from Potter’s side as the English manager looks to put his stamp on the team. Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James were all on the scoresheet for the Blues.

Potter took over as the manager of the Blues after Thomas Tuchel fell out with the owners at West London and was eventually sacked. The former Brighton manager has a huge task on his hands but he has the talent to help the Blues compete for trophies.

After a narrow 2-1 win against Crystal Palace at the weekend where the Blues needed a late screamer from Conor Gallagher to get them the three points, Chelsea fans would have been more encouraged by the display they saw against Stefano Pioli’s side.

One thing that was evident about Chelsea for anyone who watched the match that night was that the Blues were largely ruthless with the chances that they were presented with in front of the goal with the exception of Raheem Sterling who missed a couple of them.

Now, Loftus-Cheek has highlighted this very aspect as one of the main things that has changed since the time of Thomas Tuchel

“We were ruthless with the chances, that’s been the difference. We’ve had many games where we’ve played well but just couldn’t finish it off, tonight we took our chances.”

Whilst there is no doubt that the Blues were indeed clinical on that night, the English midfielder might be a little premature in saying that this is the key aspect that has changed since the arrival of Potter and it remains to be seen if Chelsea maintains this clinical nature in games to come.

It has been a refreshing start to life under Graham Potter for the Blues and it remains to be seen how the English manager goes about establishing his authority at the club. If he can do a similar job to the one that he did at Brighton, then the Blues will be in a good place.

More Chelsea News:

A huge season awaits the Blues and they have entrusted Potter with helping us challenge for trophies this season and also lead us into the future. More displays like the one against Milan will only get us more excited and let’s hope Chelsea are able to maintain that.
