A View From The Bridge

“Yes. I want to go”- Teenage midfielder confirms he has said yes to Chelsea

Transfer News: Arsen Zakharyan confirms his wish to come to Chelsea

Speaking on the Komment Show, via a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, young Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan has confirmed his wish to come to Chelsea and did not even rule out a loan option.

During the summer transfer window, the Blues were close to completing a deal to sign the player. He has a release clause of £12.6m, which if paid will allow him to leave Russian and move to any other European club.

However, due to the current situation in Russia, FIFA imposed restrictions on signing players from Russian clubs meant that Chelsea could not sign him then. It is revealed that they are not giving up hope and will try again in January.

The player has now himself said:

“My agents were informed about Chelsea interest. I said: ‘Yes. I want to go and see what happens’. I didn’t rule out a loan option. At least I would try myself. Maybe I could play right away.”

With the quotes mentioned above, it is clear that Zakharyan wants a move to Chelsea as soon as possible. It remains intriguing whether this deal is going to be possible in January or the future. The dependence on the situation improving in Russia could be one of the contributing factors if he is to come to west London.

The 19-year-old is one of the best young talents in Europe, who can play in any position across the attacking midfield and advanced central midfield. He is creative on the ball, is good at arriving in the box, has a good shot in him and works hard off the ball.

Chelsea have not hesitated in spending money on young players so far under the Todd Boehly regime. They spent a fine amount in bringing youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Omari Hutchinson in the summer transfer window.

Zakharyan, although young, can be signed to be one of the regular members of the senior squad because of his two-year experience playing for the Dynamo Moscow senior team. He could be a very good signing for Chelsea for the present and the future.

More Chelsea News:

It is always a bonus when the player himself is keen to wear our famous colours. He said that he could even ‘play right away’ at Chelsea, which is the confidence we would always want to see from young players.
