Transfer News: Moises Caicedo admits it would be difficult to turn down Chelsea
In what will come as good news to the Chelsea fans, Moises Caicedo has said that it would be difficult to turn down an offer from the Blues.
Speaking to Argentine outlet Ole (h/t Metro), the 20-year-old said that Chelsea were one of the best teams in the world. He also admitted that he was sad that Graham Potter had left Brighton & Hove Albion, but suggested he could link up with him at Chelsea.
I think they [Chelsea] are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.
The west London club have been linked with a move for the Ecuador international in recent weeks. They are not alone as rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the midfielder.
Caicedo has enjoyed a superb start to the new season as his side currently sit fourth on the table, three points ahead of the Blues. The midfielder himself has played a huge part in his side’s success till now.
He has started all the games for his side this season in the league and even has one goal to his name. The midfielder has been displaying impressive performances every week and it is not surprising that top clubs are interested in him.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have both entered the final year of their current contracts. With the duo’s future uncertain, a young midfielder is needed to replace them. Caicedo is the perfect candidate for that.
With Conor Gallagher and Carney Chukwuemeka already in the team, adding the 20-year-old could sort out the Blues midfield for years to come. It remains to be seen if Potter makes a move for his former player in January or next summer.
