Transfer News: Chelsea looking unlikely to bring in Arsen Zakharyan
According to journalist Hrach Khachatryan via Twitter, Arsen Zakharyan move to Chelsea is now looking unlikely. The Blues were interested in the 19-year-old midfielder.
Chelsea are said to be trying hard but the current sanctions by the UK government are proving to be a big roadblock in the deal. Zakharyan plays for Russian side Dynamo Moscow.
Such sanctions are very well known to the Blues faithful. After all, it was because of these such sanctions that Roman Abramovich had to sell the club earlier this year.
An attacking midfielder, Zakharyan would have made a fine addition to the Chelsea squad. The 19-year-old can also play on either side of the wings, apart from his natural position in the middle of the park.
The Russian international was in fine form last season. He recorded nine goals and nine assists in 34 appearances for his club in all competitions. Those are some very good numbers for a young player. The Blues have spent some good money this summer to improve their academy.
Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka have joined the west London club this summer. Both were the top-rated young prospects of their previous clubs. Should a move for Zakharyan go through, he would only help in improving the quality of young players at Cobham.
Thomas Tuchel is still looking to add a forward and midfielder to his squad. The clock is ticking and the options are becoming thinner with every passing hour. Zakharyan would not be involved with the first team straight away but could be called up for cup games.

It remains to be seen if the deal for the player is approved within time. The 19-year-old is one of the finest players in his position and his price could skyrocket in some time. Chelsea will be wise to snap him up now or they could regret it later on.
