Transfer News: Chelsea are plotting a move for Fulham teenager Luke Harris
Chelsea are said to be plotting a swoop for Fulham teenager Luke Harris, according to a report in the Metro (h/t Daily Mail). It is claimed that an initial offer of £25 million is on the table with further payments rising to £30 million for the 17-year-old.
The midfielder caught the eyes of the Blues when he scored a hat-trick against Chelsea at the youth level last month. The match ended 3-0, with the teenagerd getting the most attention of all.
Now, the west London club have already held advanced talks with their neighbours, in a bid to lure the midfielder to Stamford Bridge in January.
He is poised to follow the footsteps of players like Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott, who have moved to Liverpool and impressed everyone. The 17-year-old is regarded as a future superstar at Craven Cottage.
Harris was on fire last season when the midfielder scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for Fulham Under-21 in Premier League 2. He has continued that form this season too, scoring four goals in three league appearances in the PL 2.
The Blues boast of one of the best academies in the country. Cobham graduates have gone on to establish themselves in the team for both club and country. Harris could follow those steps too by joining the esteemed academy and working his way up the ladder.
But he won’t come easy. The midfielder signed his first professional contract earlier this month and is under contract till 2025. And plus, if the midfielder continues his good form then he is likely to gain the attention of other rival clubs too.
