Jose Enrique urges Chelsea not to sell Armando Broja amidst AC Milan interest
As per his tweet replying to a Daily Mail article on AC Milan’s interest in Armando Broja, former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique feels that Chelsea will make a massive mistake if they let go of the 21-year-old striker.
The Spaniard likes the player who he feels has the promise to become very good. Broja recently signed a new six-year deal with Chelsea to keep him at the club till 2028.
However, Serie A champions are considering a move to sign him soon. The Italian side have their own ambitions of decreasing the age of their strikers and they believe the Albanian international is a perfect fit for their system.
Broja spent the last season on loan at Southampton and did well in a two-man striker system under Ralph Hasenhuttl. Though he only scored six goals from 32 league appearances, his performances made him one of the crowd favourites on the south coast.
The 21-year-old is yet to start a game for Chelsea this season and has made spluttering appearances from the bench. Quality-wise, he has everything a number nine should have. He is strong, can run the channels, can link up play, can score and possesses an aerial threat from crosses and set-pieces.
Having cracked a deal to keep him at the club for six more years earlier this month, the Blues must have had a plan for him going forward. Moreover, there is no point in giving such a long extension and then selling him in a few months’ time.

Currently, Chelsea have two options as a number nine – Broja and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Kai Havertz can play there too. Manager Graham Potter needs to make use of the former in a way that suits his strong points in the game. If he is given service, there is no doubt that the Albanian marksman will score goals.
