Academy midfielder signs new contract with Chelsea until 2025

Club News: Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall signs new contract with the club

Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall has put pen to paper a new deal with the club. This would see the midfielder stay at the club until 2025, according to Football. London.

The player just turned 18 earlier this month and now has been rewarded with a contract extension for his promising start to his career. Hall has already made his first team debut and became the youngest player to start an FA Cup for the Blues at 17 years and 122 days.

A versatile player, the midfielder actually made his debut for the senior side as a centre-back. He went on to earn the man-of-the-match award on his debut against Chesterfield United where he also got an assist in a 5-1 win in the third round FA Cup fixture.

Hall has got off to a good start this season. The 18-year-old has played nine games for his side in various competitions and has found the back of the net twice.

A central midfielder by trade, he can be deployed in multiple positions as a left-midfielder or even a winger. It is not surprising to see the England Under-19 international being offered a new contract at the club.

The west London club have boasted of having one of the best academies in the country for some time now. Cobham graduates have gone to represent both club and country, and Hall has all that potential in him too.

Chelsea star, Mason Mount, with Reece James are Cobham graduates.

With Graham Potter at the helm, Hall could have a very exciting career ahead. The manager is known to work and improve youngsters and the 18-year-old is one of the best in the academy.

More Chelsea News:

A long season lies ahead with a lot of fixture congestion. It won’t be surprising if Potter has to call up players from the academy this season. It remains to be seen if Hall is one of them.
