Wesley Fofana becoming frustrated at Leicester for pricing him out of Chelsea move
According to a tweet from Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports, Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana is becoming increasingly frustrated at this club for pricing him out of a dream move to Chelsea.
The Frenchman is angry at the Foxes for asking a world-record fee for a defender to let him leave the King Power Stadium. The 21-year-old wants Leicester to play it easy and let him follow the footsteps of Marseille great Didier Drogba by playing Champions League football for Chelsea and fight for the big honours (Marseille is the hometown of Fofana).
It is no secret that Fofana wants a move to Stamford Bridge, not just for him to play for a big club, but also stake his claim to be in that French World Cup squad come this winter.
Chelsea have already made two bids to sign the defender in the region of £60-70m. But Leicester have rejected them both because they want a fee more than what they got for Harry Maguire from Manchester United.
If the player is this insistent on making a move, it feels as if it is a matter of time before the Foxes eventually agree to one of the next bids from the Blues. The 21-year-old has the quality and personality to be at par with the Chelsea standards of playing and trying to win the biggest prizes on offer.
After a very good first season at Leicester, Fofana was unfortunate to pick up a fibula injury during a preseason game last season, which kept him out until the New Year. He has come back and done well since.
Now, with a full pre-season under his belt this time around, albeit under a different coach, he looks physically ready to come to Chelsea and fight for one of the spots at the back.
For the Blues, it would be another good move made by them, not just in terms of adding a quality player, but also someone young and hungry who is ready to prove he belongs to the elite stage.
