Cesar Casadei is one of the hottest properties currently in the European market and is now closing in on a move to Chelsea. The 19-year-old midfielder is yet to make his senior team debut but has already gained the attention of top European clubs.
According to Fabrizio Romano via Twitter, Chelsea have agreed to personal terms with the midfielder. A six year-deal has been agreed between the two parties and the Blues are closing on a deal to sign the Inter Milan player.
He also says that a fee of €15 million plus add-ons will be submitted by the west London club. This will definitely come as good news to Thomas Tuchel and the fans, as Chelsea continue their summer spree.
Casadei also attracted interest from French side Nice and Italian side Sassuolo. But it is Chelsea who are now going to come out on top and get their man. The 19-year-old will make a fine addition to the youth academy in London.
The Blues have one of the most flourishing youth setups in the country. Stars have graduated from the academy and have gone on to become winners in their glorious careers. First-team players like Mason Mount, Reece James, Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja are just current examples of the quality being produced.
Midfield is a department that Tuchel has plenty of experience to call upon. N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic are all still on top of their games. Should Casadei arrive, he will likely be sent to the youth setup to brush up on his game.
But given the 19-year-old’s performance last season for Inter Milan Primavera, it won’t be long before he gets the taste of senior football. The box-to-box midfielder scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for Inter Milan’s Under-19 side. This also led to him being crowned the young player of the year at Inter.
A gem of a player, he will only get better with every passing day. His work-rate and versatility will make him a perfect player for Chelsea in the middle of the park. Fans will hope that they get to see the player play this season and no doubt they will be left mesmerised.
