Newcastle United are interested in negotiating for four Chelsea stars this summer
According to Fabrizio Romano’s column on CaughtOffside (h/t Football.London), Newcastle United are keen to negotiate with Chelsea for the quartet of Armando Broja, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Conor Gallagher and Christian Pulisic.
The possibility of the Magpies completing the four signings would be asking for a lot, but their interest is concrete. Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley was at Stamford Bridge over the weekend for Chelsea’s game against Tottenham Hotspur. The indication is that the purpose of the visit was making inroads to sign these players.
Pulisic has cut a frustrated figure at Chelsea, with lack of game time under manager Thomas Tuchel making the 23-year-old edge in favour of a move away from London. The USMNT star has struggled to make a starting XI spot at Stamford Bridge his own.
On the other hand, Gallagher revealed this summer that he wants to stay put after his successful loan spell at Crystal Palace and fight for his spot in midfield. However, the competition for places is high in that department given the players at our disposal.
With regards to Broja, the Blues have been in talks with the Albanian international to offer improved terms in his contract and extend his stay at the club. So, it would be a surprising development if they let him go this summer. With Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner no more at the club, selling Broja will effectively make Michy Batshuayi our senior striker.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, has asked Chelsea to let him leave before the transfer window ends. So, there is a possibility there for Newcastle to nip in and sign the winger. A spell on Tyneside could do the young Englishman a world of good, also giving him regular time on the pitch.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the remaining days of this transfer window – both in terms of the incomings and the outgoings. The Blues have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella but could yet benefit from a further few.
