New bid to be submitted by Chelsea for Cesare Casadei with OGC Nice in the race for signature of Inter Milan prospect
Chelsea are set to submit a new bid this week to Inter Milan for Cesare Casadei as the Stamford Bridge side push for the 19-year-old’s signature, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The negotiations are in the decisive stages and the Blues are in talks with Serie A giants’ academy prospect. The Stamford Bridge side are in the race with OGC Nice for the Inter youngster.
Casadei is yet to make his Inter debut but is a highly regarded talent in Italian football. The young midfielder is a U19 international for his national side.
Chelsea have their own set of academy stars at the club at this moment. The first team is graced by the likes of Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour, amongst others.
The Blues have one of the most flourishing youth setups in the country. And over the years, many of our youth prospects have turned into international stars.
But while Chelsea have an abundance of talent, game time is something youngsters struggle to find at Stamford Bridge. Thus, we’ve seen a lot of our academy stars go into other teams and become key players.
Currently, the middle of the park is stacked with quality players. Ngolo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Mount are the ones who are afforded the most game time in the engine room. Chelsea also have Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the squad. Gallagher also recently made his Stamford Bridge debut in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

If Casadei signs for Chelsea, he will come into a team with an excellent youth setup. The expectations on the 19-year-old’s shoulders are high, considering how Italian fans have spoken about him.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues can get a deal for Casadei over the line this transfer window.
