West Ham are leading the chase to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja
According to the Evening Standard, West Ham are desperate to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja and are set to make an official bid very soon.
Broja recently completed a productive loan stint at Southampton. Although the youngster’s six goals in 33 league games may not seem like much, his work ethic, tenacity, and physical presence in the box had a much greater impact.
West Ham United’s quest for a new striker this summer is becoming increasingly desperate. They have pursued a number of possibilities on the market, but right now, a move for Broja is their top priority. The Londoners are in negotiations with Chelsea over the Albanian’s probable transfer to London Stadium since they have high regard for him.
While the Hammers haven’t submitted an official offer for Broja, they have had lengthy discussions with Chelsea. It seems they have been successful so far in convincing the Blues for the business as Thomas Tuchel’s team are considering selling the Albanian with David Moyes’ team ready to bid £30million.
The 20-year-old’s contributions ultimately played a crucial role in Southampton avoiding relegation. His efforts have not gone unnoticed though, as West Ham intends to use him as their starting centre-striker in the upcoming campaign.
In recent years, Chelsea has also struggled to score goals, with their primary attacker Romelu Lukaku experiencing consistency issues before being loaned to Inter Milan. It has highlighted the want for a fresh number nine who can complete passes and score many goals.
One of the Premier League’s hottest talents right now, the Albanian international might provide a long-term solution to the Blues’ goal-scoring problems. Giving away the award for short-term cash, meanwhile, would be challenging given that Chelsea is looking for a new centre-forward this summer.

Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan was just approved by the Blues, who have no confidence in Timo Werner. They should retain Broja who has so far displayed tremendous promise in the Premier League and may have what it takes to take over as Thomas Tuchel’s starting centre forward next season.
