Transfer News: Leeds United winger Raphinha and his agent tell Barcelona to conclude a deal by Monday with Chelsea also interested
According to Goal (h/t football.london), Raphinha and his agent Deco have told Barcelona they must conclude a deal with Leeds United by Monday. The Brazilian is also of interest to Chelsea who are told to have reached an agreement with the Whites.
Raphinha joined the West Yorkshire side from French side Stade Rennais in 2020. A fan favourite at Elland Road, he played a pivotal role as he helped Leeds avoid relegation last season. Thomas Tuchel has been an admirer of the winger, but the Brazilian wants to join Barcelona.
Now the report claims that Barcelona have only until Monday to finalize a deal for him, or talks with the Blues could potentially open to a move to Stamford Bridge. This would be music to the ears of Tuchel and Chelsea management.
The Brazilian has been one of the most sought-after wingers in the Premier League this summer. The 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength, ever since his move to the Premier League and had very few problems settling down.
A winger that can shoot and create chances for his teammates with very less effort, he could help solve the goal-scoring woes at Chelsea. Should the Blues be able to convince him to join them, he would no doubt be an excellent signing for the west London club.
Raphinha was a shining light in an otherwise dark campaign for Leeds, as he managed to keep them afloat in the Premier league. The Brazilian scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 36 appearances for the Yorkshire club in all competitions.
The Blues are also told to have agreed to a fee for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling. If they manage to add Raphinha to the fray, it could be a potentially terrific partnership between the Englishman and the Brazilian next season. Raphinha’s deadly crosses and Sterling’s ability to be at the end of the cross could cause problems for clubs next season.

The only block to this deal is Barcelona. If they fail to agree to a deal with Leeds, Chelsea could become the potential club for Raphinha. If Tuchel can change the Brazilian’s mind, he would be a fantastic signing for us.
