Transfer News: Hakim Ziyech leaving Chelsea for AC Milan is a matter of time
According to @DiMarzio (via @Sport_Witness) [h/t Football.London], Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech‘s transfer to Italian giants AC Milan is just a matter of time and could happen very soon.
That Ziyech is looking to leave the Blues this summer is not new news. Links of the player to Serie A powerhouses AC Milan have been all over the media for quite some time now and it is becoming increasingly evident that his time in a Blues shirt has passed.
Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 and has spent the last couple of seasons at Stamford Bridge. When he came in, big things were expected of the Moroccan star but his career in a Blues shirt has never really taken off. Injuries have prevented Ziyech from becoming the player he could have been.
A player with tremendous potential and abilities to succeed in a club of Chelsea’s magnitude, it would be wrong to say that Ziyech has been a flop. He has had his moments of brilliance in a Blues shirt but it could have been much more if not for those ill-timed injuries.
Anybody who has seen Chelsea in the past couple of seasons on a regular basis will agree that Ziyech’s wonder strike against Hugo Lloris and Tottenham in the Premier League last season is one of the best goals scored by a Blues player during this time.
Every time it looked like Ziyech was finally turning over a new leaf and making his way into the starting 11 and into Thomas Tuchel’s plans, an injury came up to derail his progress and put him back in square one. Now, he seems to be ready to close the Chelsea chapter altogether and turn over a new leaf.
There is absolutely no doubt that AC Milan, if they manage to sign Ziyech, will be getting a really special player who still has many more years left at the top of the game. Moreover, he could still bring Chelsea money, making this a move that can benefit all parties in the process.

Even if Ziyech were to not leave, he can still offer a lot to our team but even if he were to leave it will not be the worst thing. The Moroccan’s time at Chelsea is a story of what could have been and we will have to make our peace with that.
