A View From The Bridge

Chelsea handed transfer boost as PL rivals look elsewhere for attacking reinforcement

Armando Broja could stay at Chelsea after West Ham United shift focus elsewhere

In what will be received as good news by Chelsea and their fans, Armando Broja looks likely to stay at Stamford Bridge. This is according to Football. London who claim that West Ham United are close to agreeing on a deal with another striker.

Broja broke into the scene last season on loan at Southampton. The 20-year-old Albanian scored nine goals for the Saints in his first senior campaign in the Premier League. He emerged as one of the best young talents and that did not go unnoticed.

The Albanians has been pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer in the hope of securing more playing time. West Ham had emerged as a potential destination for the player as they showed concrete interest in the striker. But that seems to have changed with David Moyes having found an alternative option.

Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca is said to be close to joining West Ham and the striker shares a similar profile to Broja. Signing the Italian could potentially end any ongoing discussions regarding the Chelsea star’s future.

Broja was named in the pre-season squad by Thomas Tuchel as he wanted to assess the player first. But he never got the chance, as Broja’s trip was short-lived and he had to return back to London due to an injury. Nevertheless, Tuchel is said to be an admirer of the Albanian and he would be happy to keep him.

Tuchel will be without a backup striker for next season if Broja leaves. A clinical finisher, he could have a chance to impress Tuchel during the course of the season and maybe become his first choice to lead the line.

Broja is said to have Tuchel’s admiration.

Chelsea were reluctant to allow the striker to leave and looks like they have finally got their wish. Broja has another chance to impress Tuchel and cement his place in the team. A fighter, he could become another academy product to break into the senior team.
