Transfer News: Senior players at Chelsea want the club to sign Richarlison
Richarlison has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea as certain players at the club want to see the Brazilian play for the Blues. According to The Sun, senior stars at the Bridge want him to replace Romelu Lukaku. The 25-year-old’s aggressiveness and tenacity are supposedly things that make him an appealing target.
The Brazilian forward has made his thoughts known to manager Frank Lampard as he has asked to leave the Toffees with two years left on his contract. Our London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also interested in the £50million-rated Brazilian.
Adding aggression to the attacking line
Richarlison is known to be feisty, running after loose balls and flying into tackles. The South American is a menace to opposing defences because of his scrappy personality on the pitch. Chelsea could do with someone like him up front.
With the departure of Lukaku to Inter, the team is in need of an out-and-out striker. While Richarlison can also play out wide, he’s usually deployed as a centre-forward. The 25-year-old has featured 152 times for the Merseyside club and scored 53 goals.
Since the Blues are in need of a goalscorer, the possible signing of Richarlison seems to be a decent option for Thomas Tuchel. The Brazilian scored 10 league goals for the Toffees as they battled relegation. In a decent side like Chelsea, the 25-year-old may be able to fulfil his potential.
It remains to be seen whether the Stamford Bridge club pursues the Brazilian’s signing with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele also being linked with the club.

What this would mean for the futures of other players like Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Husdon-Odoi also remain to be seen as the forwards are already struggling for game time. If Chelsea does end up signing multiple attacking players, it will be interesting to see how Tuchel fits every player into his squad.
Although, the Brazilian will have one eye on the World Cup in Qatar, hoping to make Tite’s final squad. The Blues will need to entice him to secure his signing.
