Transfer News: Premier League new boys eyeing impressive Chelsea loanee

Transfer News: Nottingham Forest interested in signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja

According to NottinghamForestLive (h/t Football.London), Premier League new entrants Nottingham Forest are keen on a move for talented Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

The Albanian forward left Chelsea on loan at the start of the season to Southampton and has gone on to establish himself as one of the top young strikers in the Premier League. His performances for the Saints has made English clubs sit up and take notice of him.

The Cobham graduate has played 38 games for Ralph Hassenhautl’s team scoring nine goals and providing one assist across all competitions. After a very impressive start to the season, the Chelsea forward has kind of tapered off towards the end of the season.

Whilst there are calls for the Albanian target-man to be given a chance in the first team next season under Thomas Tuchel, interest from Premier League clubs could force the Blues to reconsider their options.

At the right price?

While there is no doubting the talent that Broja possesses, it remains to be seen if Chelsea decide to cash in on him this summer. This would come after Tammy Abraham’s sale to AS Roma last year despite the Englishman being impressive under Frank Lampard.

At the very least, the Albanian deserves to be given a chance to prove himself in the preseason after his impressive exploits out on loan and then a decision could be made on his future. The pre-season would be a good place to start.

Transfer News: Premier League clubs set to battle it out for Armando Broja.

Chelsea’s striking woes in front of goal have been well documented this season with both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner struggling to put away their chances. This at times has forced the Blues to depend on other areas for goals this season.

Whilst neither player has left the club yet, if either of the strikers leave, it will open up a spot for a target-man in the Chelsea squad. The Blues could back Armando Broja to be the player but if they don’t, then they may have to look in the market for a striker.

Armando Broja’s future is not yet clear. At the right price, Chelsea could look at him as a sellable asset but they must be careful not to repeat the Tammy Abraham mistake again.
