According to the Guardian, Chelsea are willing to listen to offers to three of their star forwards with Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic all set to be placed on a transfer list and sold if a suitable offer comes in.
Chelsea have had a season to forget this time around with the Blues failing to win even a single trophy this season, Club World cup notwithstanding. The highs that the Stamford Bridge faithful experienced during Thomas Tuchel’s first six months in charge have all.
Timo Werner has failed to impress since joining the club from RB Leipzig back in 2020. The German striker has struggled to replicate the same kind of form that he showed during his time at Bundesliga and is extremely unreliable in front of goal.
Hakim Ziyech swapped the Eredivisie for the Premier League also in 2020 and whilst he has not had a torrid time at Stamford Bridge by any imagination, the Moroccan has not been able to put in consistent performances due to frequent injuries.
The same goes for Christian Pulisic as well who joined the Blues a year ahead of the other two players. Whilst the American’s potential is not a surprise to anyone and he has shown his quality time and again during his time here, injuries have been a constant hurdle for the former Dortmund man.
Whilst three names have been linked with exits this season, it seems extremely unlikely that all three might leave the club this summer.
Evaluating offers that come in for the three players, Chelsea will probably assess who to sell and who to keep ahead of next season. Selling all three players does not seem to make sense considering the fact that this will leave the Blues extremely short in the attacking areas.
Chelsea have a huge defensive crisis to solve this summer and finds themselves extremely short of options in central defence. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger will no longer be part of our squad, leaving two big voids in central defence. This means the Blues will have to spend money to bring in suitable replacements in the summer.
Selling an attacker, a position where the Blues are considerably well stocked will make the financial room for Chelsea to bring in suitable replacements in the summer. It remains to be seen how the Blues go about their business this transfer window.
