“Super friend”- Blues defender tells superstar compatriot to make Chelsea transfer

Thiago Silva hopes PSG superstar Neymar joins Chelsea next season

Speaking to Brazilian media via Ge Globo as quoted by Sun, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has expressed his desire for Brazilian and former PSG teammate Neymar to come to Stamford Bridge.

Neymar’s future at PSG has been the subject of speculation recently with the French club said to be willing to part ways with the Brazilian superstar ahead of next season. This has led to the former Barcelona man being linked with many clubs and Chelsea are among them.

The talented PSG wide-man is undoubtedly a world-class player whose on-field performances have been marred by injuries. Despite his exploits for PSG, there is a feeling that Neymar has not shown up when it mattered the most for the French club.

Neymar left Barcelona to join PSG in 2017 in a move that made the whole world turn in the sheer shock of the finances involved in the deal. In 144 matches for the Ligue 1 giants across these 5 seasons, the Brazilian has scored 100 goals and provided 60 assists.

These numbers are ridiculous, to say the least, and on paper, it’s baffling to see the kind of criticism the Brazilian superstar is drawing at the Parc des Princes. Even this season, despite being injured for the majority of the campaign, he has played 28 games scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists.

A move away from the French capital might just be the best solution for Neymar. If he can come to the Premier League and put up such numbers, there is no doubt he will be regarded as one of the best players in the world and if truth be told, that’s where he deserves to be.

Thiago Silva wants Neymar to come to Chelsea

Chelsea’s links with Neymar have grown stronger in recent days and speaking about the same, Chelsea star Thiago Silva could not hide his excitement.

He has to go to Chelsea. If it happens, it will be for the best. He needs no comments. And on top of that, he’s a super friend. So far, I don’t know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition”

It is no secret that a revolution is going on at Stamford Bridge at the moment with major changes in the boardroom since the new owner Todd Boehly took over the Blues. The American tycoon, if he wants to make a statement signing, would be smart to make Neymar that an.

One thing people seem to have forgotten in recent years is just how good a football Neymar is and he will undoubtedly be of great help to Chelsea from a sporting perspective. The fact that he has already worked with Thomas Tuchel in Paris means the German tactician will know how to best use the Brazilian.

Neymar is not adored enough at Parc des Princes

Whilst no longer the electric winger he once used to be during his time at Santos and Barcelona, Neymar has redeveloped his game exceptionally well to play chief creator during his time at Parc des Princes.

The Blues, however, need to keep in mind how prone to injuries Neymar has become in recent years. He has often found it difficult to handle the physicality in the French league where is constantly tackled and the Premier League is an even more physical league.

That said, Neymar does thrive in the Brazilian national team with whom he plays his football against teams who are even more physical than all these leagues and hence don’t count against the 30-year-old thriving in the Premier League and proving his doubters wrong.

If Chelsea indeed manage to sign Neymar, it will be an expensive signing but a great signing for the Blues and Thiago Silva, by his own admission is going to be very happy.
