Todd Boehly is determined to renew Cobham graduate’s contract at Chelsea

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is determined to renew the contract of Reece James

According to Daily Mail, The future of Reece James is reportedly being seen as a top priority by new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

Of course, James is a team player for Thomas Tuchel’s club in west London and has long proven himself as such. For instance, just this past season, it was seen that Chelsea’s performances suffered when the full-back was forced to sit out for a lengthy period of time. The Blues’ ranks badly missed the Englishman’s skills at both ends of the pitch.

And yet, up until this point, individuals in positions of authority at Stamford Bridge have not offered the Cobham youth product a deserving pay hike in line with his significant prominence.

Reece James is one of the best right-backs in England.

James was fantastic for Chelsea before suffering an injury in the midst of the season, and given how important he is to the squad, he is woefully underpaid when compared to most of his teammates. Now it is believed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has put the matter of James’ renewal deal on top of their to-do list.

Reece James is arguably the best right-back in the Premier League, along with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Manchester City star Joao Cancelo. The Blues star will only become better with time given his young age.

The 22-year-old, a right-back who frequently enjoys running forward and delivering crosses, is equally skilled on the defensive and does a great job of holding his man off. The Cobham graduate stands out from the competition greatly because of his superb eye for goal.

Chelsea needs to understand that they cannot afford to lose games, and it would be wise to sign James to a new, long-term contract as soon as feasible. The Englishman is Chelsea’s present and future, and he merits a pay raise.

Our team needs to bind him quickly before other teams show too much interest. While his intentions have always been to remain loyal and stay at Chelsea, we have to treat him like the superstar that he is. For far too long, there has been transfer interest from Real Madrid.

Chelsea must award him an upgraded wage deal and lock him into a lengthy deal. The current report claims that the club has already taken the first action, and that’s a healthy start.
