Transfer News: Chelsea preparing fresh bid for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to make a fresh transfer bid for Manchester City and England winger Raheem Sterling.
Sterling’s relationship with Man City has come to a crossroads, and both parties might be willing to call it quits during the ongoing summer transfer window. Since his contentious transfer from Liverpool to the Citizens over seven years ago, the 27-year-old has been a cherished asset for the team.
Sterling has discussed personal terms with Chelsea and the Blues are getting ready to make a new offer to the attacker. From the looks of it, Tuchel is keen to add a new star to his forward line after the team’s disappointing performances up front last season.
Due to the defensive exodus this summer, our backline should be a priority. But Sterling is a player we would be smart not to miss out on. At Man City, he guaranteed a decent output in terms of goals and assists each season.
Sterling is renowned for his ability to play everywhere across the frontline and do it with distinction. Given that Thomas Tuchel’s team is willing to sell players like Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech this summer, one would expect the ex-LFC star to be a starter for us were he to come to SW6.
The Brent-born forward has become one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League and is capable of playing a key part for any team in the division. Much to the dismay of the reigning English champions, Chelsea must push for the signing of Sterling from City.
We all know what Sterling is capable of, and if Chelsea sign the English star, they will have one of Europe’s finest wingers. Moreover, that will take away a very strong attacker from Man City’s frontline- although they have signed Erling Haaland this summer.

Even if he wasn’t a regular starter in the previous season, Sterling has been quite decisive for Pep Guardiola’s team and can be that player. But if the West Londoners want to sign him, it would be a good idea to sell some of our unwanted players and free up the wage bill before bringing in the England international.
