“No matter what”- Thomas Tuchel confirms his Chelsea future for next season

Chelsea tells Trevoh Chalobah and Kepa Arrizabalaga to stay for this season.

Manager Thomas Tuchel vows to stay at Chelsea for the 2022/23 season

According to The Express, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has pledged his future to the club for the 2022/23 season as the club heads into what could be a pivotal summer transfer window.

The Blues have been plagued by off-field concerns this season and that appears to have taken a toll on their plans on and off the pitch. Thankfully Todd Boehly and co look set to take over the club’s reins and that should bring about some stability off the field.

A new era comes with its own caveats and it remains to be seen how it plays out. Tuchel, for one, is keen to stick around and has assured fans that his immediate future lies at Stamford Bridge.

“I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what.”

Tuchel cannot afford to give the job anything but his best

Tuchel committing his future to the club is good news going into the summer. With a squad revamp and a backroom revamp on the cards, it is imperative that the key positions experience stability.

As far as on-field performances go, the buck stops at the manager. Having the German around will help us experience continuity especially when it comes to squad building.

Tuchel has already admitted that he has an idea of the players he wants to bring in this summer. However, the ownership saga has seen us begin the summer on a backfoot and we will need to cover significant ground once it is resolved.

The likes of Liverpool and Manchester City have been the dominant teams in English football over the last few years. Not only are they aided by strong sporting projects but also the stability brought about by the manager in charge.

It is difficult to see either of those teams part ways with Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola on a whim. If anything, they are likely to be handed the tools to fix any issues that arise. The same cannot be said of Chelsea, who have been rather trigger-happy under Roman Abramovich.

A new era looks set to dawn at Chelsea this season. With Tuchel in charge, we can hopefully continue our upward trend in development and rebuild what has been an ageing side.

The club will have several big decisions to make this summer. Thankfully it would appear that we have a trustworthy man in charge, capable of making the requisite calls.
