Thomas Tuchel dismisses Todd Boehly’s remarks following Chelsea’s draw against Wolves

Thomas Tuchel opens up on Chelsea exit and reveals surprise at sudden exit.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has disputed that the club has an edge now that their ownership crisis is almost resolved

According to football.london, Thomas Tuchel in his post-match press conference has put down the claim that Chelsea have an added advantage following the takeover by the Todd Boehly group. Tuchel was addressing the media moments after his team squandered a two-goal lead against Wolves on Saturday.

Despite Romelu Lukaku’s quickfire second-half double, Conor Coady equalised in the 97th minute to leave the west Londoners startled in front of their new owner Todd Boehly at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have now only won two Premier League games since the beginning of April.

Tuchel has stated that the new owner’s acquisition had no bearing on his team’s performance. He believes that the current Chelsea form must be addressed from within the squad. Unless it changes fast, we could be in for a nervy end to the season.

“I don’t think ownership is a reason for lack of focus. We showed when the situation began that we can still focus,”

“I would not consider this as an advantage for Leeds. It does not change much for us as the sanctions are not lifted. It’s not worth thinking about, we have our own stuff to solve and make better.”

Was there an advantage for Chelsea?

If Chelsea had held on to their lead and won three points, the assertion about the ‘advantage’ could have been more convincing. But it didn’t appear that way, as they dropped two crucial points with seconds to go before the final whistle.

We had a feeling going into this game that the players and squad would be boosted by the official announcement of the ownership saga’s conclusion. And everything appeared to be going well for the Blues, who enjoyed more possession in the first half and two quick goals from Lukaku to start the second half.

Chelsea, though, were forced to settle for a point as wolves equalised in additional time seconds before the final whistle, making it 2-1 in the 79th minute. This put an end to any sense of having an advantage and forced us to consider the real concerns that we need to address within the squad.

More Chelsea news

We were playing more offensive today and taking a significant risk of leaving our defence exposed. We needed to be more concentrated to avoid conceding goals, and our lack of concentration lost us two points.

We must address the team’s lack of focus and sluggishness. The end of the ownership controversy is particularly favourable, but the squad must recover and solve the actual problems in order to win the remaining games.
