Serie A star takes a transfer U-turn and prefers to move to Juventus instead of Chelsea

Ivan Perisic prefers to join Juventus over Chelsea in the summer

According to football.london, Ivan Perisic, a transfer target for Chelsea in the summer, is said to favour a move to Juventus rather than the Blues. The Old Lady has triggered the Inter star’s u-turn amid Todd Boehly’s hunt for A-list players.

This season, the 33-year-old has appeared 33 times for Inter Milan in Serie A, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. Perisic’s outstanding performances over the years have piqued the interest of several Premier League clubs, despite the fact that he has never played in England before.

It’s claimed that Perisic demanded a new three-year agreement worth just under £100,000 per week, but Inter instead offered him a two-year deal worth roughly £65,000 per week. Following this, he publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s treatment of him following his scintillating performance in the Coppa Italia final against Juventus. Inter won the title thanks to Perisic’s two goals in extra time.

“I don’t know anything yet. With important players, you don’t wait to the last minute – you ought to know that too.”

Can Chelsea still sign him?

When Ivan Perisic’s current contract with Inter expires in the summer, the Blues had an original agreement to sign him on a free transfer. But now things look a bit difficult for us as he has opened up on his preference to move to Juventus.

This is a setback for the new potential owners as they are looking to strengthen the team for the next season by adding some A-listers into the team. The Croatian winger would have been a good addition to the team considering his current form and experience.

Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic looks to ditch Chelsea to sign for Juventus

We need hardworking and consistent players likePerisic to add strength in depth to our squad. This lack of depth was visible during our recent FA Cup final defeat to Liverpool. The Blues have been plagued by injuries this season, leaving them severely understaffed in various areas of the field, and Perisic will provide backup for two spots.

More Chelsea news

Although he may not be the biggest signing we make this summer, his experience and ability to play two positions will help us add depth to the squad. However, his predilection for the Old Lady will force Chelsea to explore other options. We definitely need defensive reinforcements, and that would be our priority this summer.
