The father of Christian Pulisic pointed out his son’s ‘sad’ situation at Chelsea in a deleted tweet
According to the Daily Mail, the father of Christian Pulisic has revealed that despite having much love for the club and his teammates, the American star is going through a challenging phase at Chelsea.
After falling down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel, Pulisic has made only ten starts in the Premier League this campaign. Furthermore, the American star hasn’t started in any English top-flight games for the last two months.
The 23-year-old failed to supply any goals or assists when he was brought on by the German manager in the last half of the game against Everton yesterday. While he did show promise, it was not enough to break a stubborn Toffees’ resolve in defence.
The lack of game time for Pulisic has put his father in misery. The USMNT forward’s father pointed out the ‘sad’ reality in a tweet that was subsequently deleted. He even suggested that ‘big six months’ are ahead for his son, probably referring to the upcoming 2022 Qatar World Cup.
“The sad thing is he loves the club, teammates, and London… puts his heart and soul into being a pro. Onwards and upwards, my boy… big six months ahead..”
Will Pulisic leave Chelsea?
Christian Pulisic was a star performer under former manager Frank Lampard. By scoring goals consistently, he proved his talent in front of the Stamford Bridge crowd in the first season at the club. Even in recent times, the American star has showcased top-notch performances for his national side.
However, he hasn’t got many chances in the Chelsea team this season. One primary reason for that could be Thomas Tuchel’s preferred tactics. The German manager prefers to play with three central defenders in the back, which leaves little to no requirement for wingers.

Pulisic’s father’s comments suggest that the American star might be struggling mentally to cope with the situation. If the issue regarding his lack of game time prevails, then he might decide to end the partnership with the Blues.
Pulisic is relatively young and still has a few years left in his contract. Hence, his return to form would be a massive advantage for our team. However, our German manager should show more faith in the American star to achieve good outcomes.
